Classroom Ecospheres
Our Classroom Ecospheres are a captivating educational initiative designed to bring the marvels of ecology directly into classrooms. Each Ecosphere is a self-contained ecosystem, carefully crafted with opae ula shrimp, lava rocks, and Macro Algae. These elements work in harmony to create a closed-loop, self-sustaining environment, encapsulating the intricate balance of life found in nature.
Through the Ecosphere project, students are immersed in hands-on learning experiences that illuminate fundamental principles of ecology. From the intricate workings of the carbon cycle to the essential dynamics of the nitrogen cycle, our Ecospheres serve as captivating tools for exploring the interconnectedness of life on Earth.
By observing and interacting with these miniature ecosystems, students gain a profound understanding of ecological concepts and the delicate balance that sustains life on our planet. The Ecosphere project not only fosters scientific knowledge but also cultivates a sense of stewardship and responsibility for our environment.
With each Ecosphere distributed, we ignite a spark of curiosity and inspire a new generation of ecologically minded individuals, equipped with the knowledge and passion to protect and preserve our planet for generations to come.

Our Classroom Ecospheres are constructed out of a durable shatterproof transparent acrylic sphere and a custom 3D printed PLA plastic base.
The environment inside is made of of brackish water, lava rocks and 'Chaeto' macro algae. This makes a perfect home to the stars of the show: the industrious and adaptable Ōpaeʻula shrimp. Together these elements work in harmony to create a miniature self sustaining ecosystem.
